01 / Project overview

Layers of light.
One calm night scene.

This Los Angeles landscape lighting project was developed to make the property feel welcoming after sunset without turning the garden into an overlit space. Each layer serves a different purpose, from defining tall palms to revealing the texture of shrubs.

Focused uplighting brings height and structure to the trees, while lower fixtures add depth around planting beds and paths. The result is a warm, balanced exterior that looks polished from the house and feels comfortable while moving through the garden.

01

The need

Bring nighttime character to the landscape while improving visibility around garden routes.

02

The approach

Layer focused tree uplights with softer illumination for shrubs, paths and perimeter planting.

03

The result

A warm exterior scene with clear focal points, comfortable brightness and natural depth.

02 / Lighting scope

Every plant receives the right light.

Fixture direction and brightness were planned around each landscape layer rather than applying one level everywhere.
